I feel that the first chapter perfectly demonstrated the cultural beauty standard in asia, that light skin is considered pretty while dark isn't. I'm not excusing it in the least.

I'm still gonna give this a shot because the art is nice and if the artist really wanted to, she or he could've drawn a character with light skin instead. I'm just gonna wait and see if it redeems itself basically.

Second chapter is focused more on the second lead, it seems.
