I think Murim is supposed to be Wulin an ancient area of China, now known as Hangzhou. I'm not familiar with Korean but the similar Japanese and they have similar translations of Chinese names where they can't quite match the correct spelling and kanji. For example, Wuhan gets called Bukan in Japanese.
