I think how Renee thinks has been the best portrayal so far (for me) in how wars are perceived by people not wholely part of the fighting. Like yeah, she sees ML as someone who's killed people and she had been biased because of that one thing that happened to her but she is also open-minded/analytical enough that she understands that a person or situation is faceted.
