I have to say, the lack of development on her side is at least a little sad.....
I was like, we are almost there, we just needed 1 more moment and her character will develo... *ding*.... oh, nvm, someone else did it for her
i hope the girl will undergone a voice therapy sometime, so she finally be able to speak again, since depend on the cause, aphonia can be treated
maybe at the climax of the story or when the story end, i guess?
To others, I wouldn't hold my hopes up. This seems like a long lived platonic friendship type manga to me, which will end long before either of them feel like confessing anything. My best hopes for this is we end with them both still in school, and mute girl confessing with "I want to be with you forever" *as friends*
"Sure, lets we are the best of friends" hugs tightly zooms out to see whole classroom, celebrating end of year/graduation/whatever and a banner that says thanks for reading
Epilogue:
Mute girl slowly becomes dependent on mind reader girl and uses the notebook less and less. Then, they graduate and go to separate schools. Mute girl, now completely incapable of functioning socially without mind reader girl, talks to no-one and makes 0 friends. She lives the rest of her life curled up in a ball unable to talk to or write to anyone ever again, Just as planned!
Who wants to bet that Kokosaki's just figured (instead of reading her mind from home) Mashiro would be freaking out about inviting her, got irritated and decided to call first?
