A-Rank Boukensha no Slow Life - Vol. 1 Ch. 1

What's up with all these slow life manga and their protagonists having a quarter-life crisis?
Did I muss some important development in Japan's youth 10 or 20 years ago?

I retire in that village with all those flowers as I planned it to do several years ago.

Hayfever!? F**********************ck!

@GerryCerryBery also let's not forget it's a fantasy medieval setting so 30 year olds can be considered old (i mean you didn't see many 60 year olds back in medival europe ) so you could say he's having a
3-quarters-life-crisis :3

@Logic I have no clue how that has any relevance to this story. The only reason why the Revoked License manga is shit is because it's wishy-washy. It can't decide if it wants its protag to just chillax with fox daughter or if it wants him to go on some revenge porn vindictus. This story is fine because the MC knows what he wants, and he does that. He's done with adventuring so he's not adventuring anymore. He likes this village so he moves to this village. He controls his life which makes him fun to watch even if his story isn't that thrilling.

The girl looks better on the cover than she does in the manga. How disappointing

another dude just trying to chill... i wonder how bad black companies are getting lately

Yes it is, When The LN was doing by Itsuwa Katou
The Manga itself same as Isekai monster plant

I like the art, it looks childish but imo looks cartoonishly good. Also, first panel at page 6 made me wow, really nice setting.

Nice art, chill setting and interesting MC. Insta Follow for me.
I like the fact that there's no drama to start the story.
  • He wasn't betrayed by his group, they actually left as friends.
  • He wasn't exploited by his country, he's actually at the peak of his popularity as a hero.
  • He didn't get hurt or burn out to make him stop being an adventurer, he just wants to chill.
  • He's not bitter, damaged or angry. He just loves flowers.
I'm curious what'll happen, I just hope no convoluted story arc comes to ruin this.

Is this a new trend? A "retirement" genre where a fantasy hero defeats something and tries to live a secluded life (which only leads into more action somehow)?
I've seen a few other new manga with this

Interesting settimg. However, 27 is still very much in your prime. It’s weird that Japan, a country where the life expectancy is so long, would still cling to those antiquated concepts.

@Yourself, In terms of physical build I believe so.
However, I'm fairly sure reaction time stops drops quite a bit past 24.
Possibly matters when you're fighting in life or death situations alot.

Also, this is a fantasy world, where living conditions, life expectancies, etc are different.

now i would love to see such a vast flower field myself and relax a bit. i hope our MC is having a great relaxing time here.

thanks for the translation Einherjar Scans, i hope you will keep this series going. :D
