Why the fuck can't you snipe Romantica?!
You're fighting in a corridor, the enemy only does a charging attack and you're close to the enemy.
What do you need to hit your target?
This guy might be the hero in the future but not all heroes start out a hero. I have the feeling the quest they're on will take them on a path to help direct him away from his current madness.
@Demon_Dragon_Shi The shadow worlds don't work as time travel, so much as simulation. Everything they encounter is what actually happened in history, the quest is just changing the simulation to avoid the repeating outcome.
ie; the alchemist was just as screwed up in the real world, but was deemed a hero in history books because he was never caught. Stopping him won't change history, but it will clear a condition for beating the main quest.
@SecretMoblin
Though, notably, if they were so inclined they could reveal the reality of him once they finish this shadow realm, it wouldn't undo all the years he was considered a hero but might be able to fix the history from that point forward. That said, who knows how much people would trust people coming back from shadow realms, and whether desir would care about flipping the narrative like that.
I'm curious what this dude did to achieve being considered a hero, anyways. I mean it wasn't immortality unless it's extremely limited in usage to only a few people, and it probably wasn't the chimeras since... pretty fucked up. But maybe it is that.
@Rin2k Why not both? This scientist was an alternate main quest, there's still the main main quest out there.
Yes, though the end result is different from what he expected. It took hundreds years to perfect it completely. We will see it in the future.
Also related, but bigger spoiler:
The true mastermind is another guy who basically lives forever. He was the Head of Church/Country in the dungeon that they visit previously. In the present, he is basically the leader of the Outer.
