The heroine is very self-centered and that's annoying. He hasn't been cruel to her, only rude. Yet she treats the prince like crap. She doesn't have to like him. But what's wrong with being civil, or kind? And her determination to see things only as she wants to see them makes her closed-minded and foolish. It's refreshing that she's strong and intelligent, but she lacks heart. She needs balance.

@GreenDragonSage I feel this is mostly down to personal opinion. I actually like how shes self centered because shes a princess and it makes sense. On the topic of the prince and how she treats him like crap. I believe its more teasing than anything because its not done out of any malicious intent. If he says no oh well she would probably do it herself. Also they are mutual in how they act with each other barring the occasion where the prince is kind to her because shes a lady or he has growing feelings for her. I think her actions and how they treat each other all come down to how you perceive them. I have always seen it as a friend like kind of banter. I will agree the annulment scene was implied to have hurt him but considering he hasn't said he likes her or completely realized it and she still thinks they are both "stuck" in this situation she said what her goal has been from the start.

It’s normal to want an annulment of an engagement. She was basically sent off, because of royal fam issues. Probably. Imagine going to a new place where you knew nobody and getting engaged to a boy that doesn’t particularly like you.

@kylie_aliah yea idk why some people either forgot or chose to ignore since they're the endgame couple. They were both put into a situation they didn't want and simply haven't had enough time to warm up to each other yet.

And there's nothing wrong with the way she treats him, it's more playful than actual rudeness. That's why the prince who was initially against the marriage is now interested and isn't thrown off by the way she acts.

@GreenDragonSage she’s pretty eccentric, but I don’t think she treats the prince as badly as you make it sounds lol. They both mess around and sass each other. They seem more like bantering friends than anything. Plus, idk if you’ve noticed, but the prince has never really been civil with her either. But they’ve never actually rejected each other’s company completely. They’ll dish out insults one moment and then end up as partners in crime the next. It’s always been like that for them. Maybe you’re put off by how she’s constantly pushing for annulment, but that’s always been her goal and it was what he wanted as well. Maybe he’s changed his mind, but he hasn’t really done anything to change hers. For her, she’s still being forced to marry into a foreign empire to someone that she doesn’t love and doesn’t love her.
