This is just a prediction, and I haven't read any spoilers but...

My guess is that the prince manipulated Nora's parents, and most likely everyone else in his life, to think the worst of Nora and the best of him (the Prince), hence that flashback image some chapters ago. Which would explain their relationship and Nora's current mental state. He feels attacked on all sides until our MC tells him she is on his side. Which I think is going to be a point of contention for the prince in coming chapters. Just a guess.
