A Stepmother's Märchen - Vol. 1 Ch. 50

Noooo!!! Please, somebody spoil me and tell me that Shuli's not permanently leaving the kids 😭

I still can't go over that they essentially calls a slap to the face attempted murder.

@eminadigicc0306
If I am reading it correctly I believe the defense/ argument she is using is the fact that with the removal of her position in the court and the subsequent filling the position the position by the defendant changes the whole dynamic of the court case, because by easing his position she change the case form the royal family against an heir of a Count to that against a count, which in turn changes the consequences for position if they go through with this action removing the hand of a active count would likely create a divide between the royals and noble factions (this isn’t helped by the already existing divid) and serves as justification for any descent against the royal family.

Also this is likely a sham trial and everyone knows it, this trial was never about serving justices for acts against the royal family but rather a way to put the noble faction back in in its place (a metaphorical smack if you will). As for the Reason that they targeted him he besides the fact he was in the wrong place at the wrong time as the first heir she will serve as a strong message but there is already two replacements heir set up to replace him so limited damage overall.

Ps I know I probably remember her title wrong but the higher her position the greater the point

Kid its ok.. she's trying to save your brother..

I dont think that she'll leave the household yet..

I still don't get why people hate on the prince.
All the orphans act irrationally when it comes to their mother. The prince is a orphan too, one who saw the kids almost as brothers for their similar experiences.
If you want to hate the prince then you'll have to hate them all

@Stoner Are they not? They're litteraly commiting crimes to get close to her
The only difference is that the kids got the perfect mother out of the blue while the prince is forced to watch from the sidelines
Which is especially hard on him when his friend's new mother looks just like his own deceased mother

@Kangarooloo To sum it up. The idiocy of the royal family doesn't just end with the self centered prince. The Queen is also self centered and pretty much is doing this because she's petty as fuq, since the Marquess didn't put his duchey under her before his death and instead gave it to a child. Now, she's pretty much just doing this outrageously for I think two reasons, seeing the stand point of the "church" and to see how the MC is going to get her son out of this. So, the MC is pretty much making it to were her marriage with the Marquess was invalid or cancelled so that Jeremy can be seen as the head of the house instead of herself. That way Jeremy won't get punished as "being the head of the house" he can use a "defense of honor" to save himself from getting his hand cut off. However, since they are children her kids will see it as her leaving them.

@reu I think its because he's acting like a sociopath that likes to collect mothers while alienating their actual children, he's acting like a cuckoo bird. He's treating and thinking of the people around him as things. He doesn't care if Jeremy gets hurt so long as long as he gets Shuli's affection. Just look at how the prince ostracized Nora from his own parents.
