@vantablack35 means you don't have to shovel as much later, it is significantly easier to shovel two a moderate amount of snow than one time with large amounts of it.

@vantablack35 at that age, I guess they dont have enough strength to shovel once the snow has piled up. So they have to do it when they havent piled yet... as for why they do it when they are young again... force of habit?
