I love how Fooly the scrawny mage is one of like three people in the setting who is ready to throw down with the sacred sword with no reservation. Come to think of it the other two are both women.
If they actually go through with marriage, i'm curious if they'll have a similar marriage to earth, where the man stands on one specific side, and the woman on the other , because the man might need to pull off his sword to fight off others.
That's atleast what I heard as the reason , if there's an 'official placement'

It's a common term which originates from Japanese comedy duo sketches. There are two main characters: "boke", or "idiot one" - a character who says or does something stupid or nonsensical, or just eccentrical, and "tsukkomi", or "straight one" - a "sane" character who responds to boke's foolishness. As it was mentioned by @Umesan above, it's also a name for any character who points out the craziness going on. Usually main boke-tsukkomi pair in anime and manga are protagonist (harem lead) and his stupid best friend, an ideal example would be Tomoya and Sunohara from Clannad.
Progress is nebulous when Continuity is clearly established in this chapter. Especially given the last arc was all about reflecting on Fooly's confession.
