Ironically, wanting to die might lead this guy to live a more fulfilling life. He's reaching out and pursuing a relationship (with alternate motivations for sure) because he has no fear of death (the opposite, in fact). I'm hoping he can realize that life doesn't have to suck; it can be great, if you're not afraid to do the things to do to be happy.
