A Sword Master Childhood Friend Power Harassed Me Harshly, so I Broke off Our Relationship and Made a Fresh Start at the Frontier as a Magic Swordsma…

Guys. Those plants obviously have to breakdown and digest their prey from the inside. Clearly nothing sexual about that. Kap

Megumin would be proud.

Nice this is good I like it. Thanks for the update, please continue translating this manga really love it. Thank you translators can't wait for the next update.

@darekpawlo
in the novel version, childhood friend has a long string of side chapters as the chases the MC, reflects on her behavior and becomes a better person.

@Akuzuma - the stalker girl isn't a loli. She might not have watermelon-sized breasts, but she is a teenage girl at an age where it's appropriate to fall in love and have all sorts of love troubles.
I do like tentacles, so I don't mind the tentacle scene.

@Legion_01 @tremor3258 @Fluffyfish - MC doing that big explosion doesn't mean he's actually good at magic. It means he is bad at controlling his magic, and ended up wasting too much power. A spell with that much destructive power is useless in most situations, and leaves you out of mana in a few shots.
Megumin is a bad mage, not a capable one.

I always felt that these incantation based magic systems are just a paper thin excuse to make the MC "innovate" things by going:

"Huh, so what if I just condition myself to associate imagery with a non-descriptive term?", as if it were something revolutionary. Of course every magic users would want to minmax incantation time/magic output and also give away as little information as possible vs intelligent opponents.

Chanting something that sounds like a healing spell but that you've conditioned yourself into associating with an offense oriented spell and vice versa would be the most basics of PvP anti-human spell casting.

@degernase tbf, while it woudl not be revolutionary, its not 100% unlikely that most, if not ALL "magic teachers" in these systems would follow the previos idea that it has to be this incarnation or something similiar.

a MC that, without being trained from a young age in these (wrong) ideas and concepts would have an easier time to just go "what if i do it this way" instead of just following the known path

Having your mind not yet be "posined" by "how things should be" helps in looking at things from otehr angels, children are great at that for example

TACTICAL NUKE INCOMING!

He's an idiot i see....
I mean the girl he left has a bit of a problem but i argue that he is actually worse

Certainly you're right about an MC in a situation such as this would be more likely to come up with new methods, but that doesn't excuse a complete standstill in development.

Just look at our own world, within only 5-10 years there is uncountable progressions made in various fields. And in these stories with a constant looming threat of war and/or demons, you bet that one of the best tools of war will have ridiculous amounts of resources pooled into it in order to advance the understanding of it.

EDIT: Honestly I'd be happy if the MC would innovate magic in some other way for once, that's all.

So she's a platinum adventurer that can't protect herself yet still chooses to stalk someone on their quest...

@um3i No, she can protect herself. She just wasn't paying attention and her guard was down. Its the same as someone being too engrossed with their smartphone and walking/driving into someone/something.
