A Villainess No More - Ch. 30

Well Athy did know she was a knight before, so I'm not surprised she's still cautious. She may be a handmaiden now but she's still tainted by the "once was a knight" mark.

Hopefully there's a flashback in the next chapter, because currently I feel like there is a chapter missing between this chapter and last chapter.

@GodGinrai perhaps there will be another to give more details, but the flashback at the beginning of the chapter pretty much covered enough to explain why she dislikes knights, if you read between the lines.

@Fushiginiku Of course. But that's not the gap I'm concerned with. At the end of last chapter, Aelina introduced herself as Athy's handmaiden. In this chapter, the Duke is saying that she was appointed as Athy's bodyguard. How the hell did that happen? Also, given Athy's disdain for knights, I can't imagine she had no response worth showing to the fact that a knight that had approached her placed herself by her side through other means.

@GodGinrai I'm guessing that she is a 'bodyguard' on paper because she's part of the knight corps, not part of the household staff. Quicker to do it that way than to move her employment to a different ministry. Remember, she's officially on 'leave of absence' from the knights. She didn't quit.

fjelkelflkdlkf, they wake up together and have morning talks. How can I not love them????? PLEASE, I AM FOR THIS TYPE OF SHIT.

Athy is really a strong girl, her life sucks, their parents are biased despite her taking care of everything, hypocrite sister, her grandma left her and her knight is just taking advantage of her.

She's being married to the duke right now is a blessing of her patience.

I wish the chapters were longer - usually it takes up to 100 chapters to say they love each other but this will probably take way longer. Not that I want them fall in love quickly but this will be a long wait. 😊

Thanks for the chapter!🥰🥰

If that is all of her reason not to trust knights then she shouldn't let anyone at all near her as that seemed like less of a "knight problem" and more of a "human problem" in general.

If this were in manga format these chapters would be 4 pages long. I still like it, but what the hell?

I knew things would end poorly with how well he treated her. A shame.

At least we get this very sweet morning chat between spouses that's comfortable and caring.
