A virtual "scanlation currency" as an incentive to revive dead projects

Virtual currencies are worthless and have no impact on translations. Only exception is minorly the bounty system on ehentai. But that gets spent on the minigame so....

I think a virtual currency would just end up creating more work for the people running the site, especially if you give points for uploads. Imagine the literal tidal wave up really badly done uploads that would swamp the site, all by people who would be trying to earn the currency for pride's sake. In the earlier days of forums, it was extraordinarily common for people to posters to pad their counts just to look good, and this would be no different, and would likely end up just making a big mess.
