Great work with the chapter as usual!

I was especially interested in Ellen's reaction to his departure, and as I suspected she regretted it more than she thought she would. Unfortunately this means that Caidel wouldn't have been able to do anything more if he stayed, since she needed this distance to really notice how much he meant to her.
Noah is an a**hole as usual by repeating the same things she once knew but didn't want to acknowledge anymore, effectively trying to brainwash her.

But it's quite clear Ellen doesn't really need Noah, like if he was suddenly gone she would probably be "oh well". A more shallow female protagonist would go to the love rival once she realizes she can't be with the main guy. That is a symptom of being so starved for love, that you always need to have someone constantly infatuated with you.
I am glad to see that Ellen is not shallow and she knows perfectly what she wants, recognizing that Noah will never do.

That whole scene with the red panels were strikingly beautiful. It honestly gave me chills. I knew Ellen had it coming but it was good to see Ellen accepting that fact rather quickly and not dwelling on it more than a human should. I like how both characters have things more important than love to focus on.

@Stoner, while I'm not sure this'll stop you from considering from dropping it, I went to check the spoiler threads again for new spoilers (sadly, not much)
HEAVY SPOILERS ahead

Ch.42 will be Caidel's (the Earl will notice Caidel develops a weakness/a sense of longing to return to that village and allows him a quick visit) return to the village and afterwards will realize everyone, including Sophie has forgotten Eleanor. Sophie tells him Ellen's house was always deserted and the last trial was 40 years ago. Caidel will have a mini breakdown thinking what he has been through was all a lie/in his head but upon heading to Ellen's house finds a letter that was meant for him thereby confirming his relationship with Ellen wasn't a fake. We get a minor timeskip, probably months, Caidel has been invited to a party of a Marquis (dunno for what reason) and coincidentally meets Ellen again as the Marquis's daughter (don't worry, she remembers him. I say timeskip because the spoilers mention Noah has been teaching her etiquette and dance for months), dunno what happens next, but it is speculated that when they talk, Ellen will tell him of her past (44/45-?), basically she asks him before the backstory whether he'll accept the real her (and at some point, the marquis will show up and that Ellen knows its Noah in disguise). Jump to Ch.51 and we get... a KISS. Caidel apparently has a happy look and Ellen gets an anxious look (dunno what led to that)
