Thank you so much for these chapters! Your hard work is very much appreciated
I believe this is Caidel 110% but I am still confused as to what impersonating the Duke and his daughter have to do with anything!!! Im sure we will find out later although I am thankful for some more information about the whole arsonist situation and how Ellen fits in
@RC1138Boss That's absolutely not possible at this point. If you read the first chapters again, these events are in Caidel's memory, so they happened like less than 10 years ago. So Ellen has to be around 30 in present.
The truth is Ellen's age is never stated or implied, nor I think anyone mentions what kind of immortality does she have. She may be just immortal to getting killed other than old age or something.
@Maou9000
It's likely she was robbed of her food and such (it did imply it happened the same day she met the kid at her house), however due to her appearance i doubt "that" happened(remember she still has the black eye and white hair that people dread). in all likelihood if she is the "witch" they've been searching for, that was likely what started the chain of events.
That said if that was what the author was implying, then it's adding needless drama to a already drama filled series, that said who knows, it could have been left that way for you to decide.
@Tatsuya-Kai Yeah probably not, since they feel disgust towards her (which is the reason for all the senseless hate). Also, she didn't grew any special revulsion towards men either so it's probably not that.
But I still hate that it might as well have happened since she was in that defenseless circumstance.
We should remember the things we see in these kinds of stories, how people discriminate based on looks alone. And the other side of the coin, which is just as bad, to instinctively like more those that are good looking. And based how things are today, this is overwhelmingly the case.
@Tatsuya-Kai
Yeah I completely forgot she was carrying food at the time... it was clearly just a case of her getting chased away. No extra symbolism... just food falling.
@Maou9000
Oh there's plenty of extra symbolism, it just doesn't imply that, it implies she was probably assaulted by some of the townsfolk (which would give her a reason to hate the town tbh), assault is not the same as sexual assault though, manwha generally don't hold back if they imply that.
That said the big tells are the fact that the series doesn't have the tag for it on MD, and as far as i know the novel never hints at such a thing happening to her.
he’s definitely caidel...those mannerisms give it all away plus, i feel like it would make more sense for him to caidel than for him to not be caidel (if that makes sense idk ??)
