A Witch's Hopeless Wish - Ch. 49

I think that
they didn't weed enough plants, so they left too many around, but of course, people are dumb and blamed eleanor for the fire. As to who chained her, it was probably Caidel.

ouo Of course I'm happy she survived and stuff, but damn they chained her leg? My evil-minded question, "Why didn't y'all just stab her and chain her and then set the place on fire. No one has attention to detail?! Nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

Also me: :C He came to apologize!!! uwahhhhhh! T___T

@Richman I don't think caidel is that cruel to chain elen. I think the dad was the one who instigated to set elen on fire since he was lurking around the two ever since he discovered elen with his son, caidel. And he is also making false arguments about people dying because elen is seen hanging around his kid. For the whole town to set fire, I agree that the grass would play a part on it.

I still believe that Caidel wanted to meet Elen again since she was good to him instead of arresting her for the fire.

Just going by foreshadowing here, but the father is P.O.S who probably killed his wife for being a "witch" and is the one who started the fire and chained Ellen to the table.

So caidel has his memories wrong then. His father looks like the one who set Elenor's house on fire, and I guess he ended up dieing in the process. While she ended up saving him.

I just need to persevere through this... its always the one who suffered the most that obtain the greatest happiness at the end.

Wait. It's a bit late for that, but what is if Ellen is really the daughter of the Marquess (?) The rich dude.
I mean there was a lot of money next to baby Ellen, so what is if they abandoned her bc they knew something was wrong and later on everybody said they haven't seen the Marquess daughter so either the daughter is like Ellen but they couldn't abandon another child or it's some of Noah's magic and she never existed

so.......the dad framed ellen of killing those missing kids and caidel was remembering the past wrong..... AND ELLEN'S ANKLE IS CHAINED TO THE LEG OF THE TABLE OR SOMETHING WHILE THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Thanks for the update. Didn't notice the chain until it was mentioned in the afterword.
I know we're basically in the climax of the flashback now but Ellen dear, I fail to see how you see/consider yourself as a witch in the present. Sure, you're not... normal anymore since you're kinda immortal but you know in your heart, you did nothing wrong. You helped a kid being abused by his POS of a father. Kid Caidel COULD'VE just stayed with you. His father barely cares for him, I dunno what the POS wants from his son (someone to carry his name or someone he could've used in the future if he abused/manipulated him long enough) but again, you could've just taken him away and moved farther away and lived a hermit's life or until Caidel was ready to live on his own (well we know from plot that he grew up fine thanks to the earl)

@Calippya If you read the previous chapters then you would know that the father did NOT kill his wife because he thought she was a witch. The wife died due to an illness she wasn't murdered.
