So the stalker-boy isn't actually dead. I wonder what is Mizuki's game here because it is pretty clear that there was no "love triangle". Unreliable narrator is too strong in this one.

Even if it's just a what if - imagine being in love with your best friend's stalker. That would suck for anyone.

Anyway, police being sloppy when handling stalking is nothing new. Here in Italy the issue is significant and despite new laws to counter violence on women, and authorities and whatnot urging women to tell police and so on if they're being abused or stalked, most of the time police themselves brushes it off.

Keep in mind that this is the first time we're seeing him after Mako's death. There's obviously still a lot that's unclear about the situation, but his empty gaze could straightforwardly be explained as "the girl he liked, perhaps obsessively, died really recently".

(There's still a possibility that he's uhhh Actually Bad, but his extremely gloomy appearance in this seen could just be because he's dead inside because Mako just died.) (I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how he behaves in the next chapter, especially in direct interaction with the attorney guy. I really like both of those characters for some reason.)

@Brackass there were speculations earlier that this might turn into a pile of corpses left behind by Mizuki and I am glad it didn't. Really eager to find out what is at the root of this mystery :)

@pacmanyo oh right I remember now that there was that scene a few chapters ago where she was creeping up on the stalker with a shovel, but then she ended up getting along with him so I kind of forgot about that scene
