why is the concept of reincarnation very addictive even when alot is not well writtn.

Yeah, but I had a chuckle at 'story'. The average Isekai and story? Heck, even the average manga does not have much to offer.
<- wannabe elitist

So am I since I read lots of garbage including 3/10 isekai, feels bad man. Well, I stopped reading the ones about... What was it again? Ahhh, yes, 'slime bonking', thanks poster who made my day with that comment.
Last thing I enjoyed was Golden Kamuy, put it on the list like soon after it came out but never bothered to until recently, pretty good/10. Now, this shit is proper entertainment (imo)!

If you can ignore shitty writing it is actually enjoyable , but , add some OP or even Story-Breaking-Power
EX:Isekai Smartphone , Kenja no Mago , what was it again , reincarnated strongest sage or something
it burnt to a crisp and too salty to enjoy .

It's because every isekai is about leaving your obnoxious and dull life to start an adventure, find purpouse in the main protagonist's life. It's similar to the road trip stories in this aspects. The MC gets in contact with the nature and the "outside world" to find his true self, what he was made for.

That's why isekai is appealing, because everyone can be tired of your working daily routine. If you think about it, there's a lot of people who waits the appearance of something that will change their lives, but they don't make the change themselfs. Isekai is this change appearing out of nowhere.

However, this is not only a japanese thing, there are western stories about this too, like:
[ul]Alice in the Wonderland
Wizard of Oz
The Chronicles of Narnia[/ul]

Halloween Necro Festival

I truely believe that the only isekais that have a reason to exist are those that allow travel between worlds or when irl knowledge is used in the ISEKAI rather than just someone dies and reincarnated just because human monotony craves death as pathway to medieval adventures and ELFs
