Against the Gods - Ch. 27 - Identity

I think I missed that detail or I just forgot from countless manga and manhua that I read everyday

sigh

The second to last page clearly shows he swapped the sons, he didn't kill his own son. What else would the double arrows mean?

I'm impressed that this is actually trying to directly adapt the story from the web novel (which gets quite complicated). They haven't really left anything out or combined any characters. It does mean that the story moves at a glacial pace, but I'd rather that happen than the travesty that is the manhua for Panlong/Coiling Dragon.

Pretty sure the grandfather didn't acknowledge or give permission for their relationship at this point in the novel.

@bob3002 Right? Assuming he murdered his own son is a bizzare and extreme interpretation that doesn't fit the imagery at all, assuming it was based off that alone.

Pretty sure he didn't murder his son and just swapped sons, the translator's fucking up and mistranslating that part.

if i want to read the light novel from this point onward, where should i start?😅

Woah, wait there a sec, who said nothing about killing his own son? I see two arrows, didn't he jusy swap them?? When Xiao Ying said "Even if my son dies" he was probably refering as if dies along side my sworn brother.
Thanks for the chapter!

@kyru I started at 35, now i'm at 263. It. Gets. GOOD! (edit) oh and this is what I use to read it: https://novelplanet.com/Novel/Against-the-Gods

@HuevoPodrido @Amplify Novel reader here, He says 'if my son dies' (He never said he killed his son) because the MC's parents were being hunted by forces that were much more powerful than them (explained in this chapter), meaning they were under the threat of imminent death. He swapped them because of what he said at the end of this chapter. I always thought it would be better for the Gramps' son to just take the mc and then bring up 2 children instead of basically killing his son...

@NorthernGriffin
I read the novel too which is why I said all that, and I don't visit a pirate site to do it.

I would highly recommend you use
https://www.novelupdates.com/
for all your LN, WN, CN and KN needs. It's an up to date list of every non-licensed novel out there and where you can find the translation for it.

Pro tip: don't bother at all with the site webnovel.com, block it as soon as you have an account on Novel Updates. They're the scum of the translation world and the only time it's a good idea to use a pirate site.

@kyru
The real site you want is
https://www.wuxiaworld.com/novel/against-the-gods/

The novel's good, highly recommended, but I hope you're the type of guy who likes to read small details and fluff that turns out to be important later as Mars likes to do that a lot, and there's plenty of impatient guys out there who like to skip the middle of chapters and then complain they don't understand what's going on.
