Akatsuki no Yona - Vol. 27 Ch. 157.5 - Extra

“If his majesty lets me”? King Il didn’t seem this strict in volume 1!
Only now the true colours of king Il are being shown ?
But this kinda opposes the fact that he spoiled Yona as well as that dialogue in chapter 1 “I’ve given you everything you every wanted, but I can’t give you Soo-won”; clearly, Yona was very much restricted and only got materialistic things, nothing of what she really wanted

@ArpanaR Totally, my thoughts exactly! He left Yona alone so much of the time, too. All she really ever wanted was companionship - though that's probably why he chose Hak to be her guard instead of Jud-oh. And remember when they were sick and he tried to make Yona's favorite dish? So there were good moments too. I think King Il is turning out to be a pretty complex character and there's still a lot we need to learn about him.

I really want more flashbacks about Il and Soo-won

Because I wanna know if Il is responsible for his brother's death, (for it really is outside his no violence beliefs) more about the priest being chased out of the castle and just his interactions with Soo-won. Like why did he distrust him as a kid so much and how long has Soo-won been planning. Also, I want the night Soo-won killed Il told from their perspective like how many more chapters until I get to see that!

Here's what I think:
- King Il feels threatened by Soo-Won but recognizes that he's family.
- King Il loves her daughter for sure, but his protection turned her daughter to be ignorant.
- King Il's overprotectiveness made Yona lonely so he made Hak her guard.
