It's interesting how perspective is being played with in terms of Kuelbo. Sure, he's the jerk who took Yona and started all this crap, but in the eyes of the Tully he's a hero. From what we know about their background, he led them out of a dark time and reclaimed much of what was lost when his sister (maybe) died. What he's done is, in all honesty, not a whole lot different from what Suwon's done for Kouka and it's actually not that surprising that he has a wife who genuinely loves him and citizens who genuinely believe in his rule. This might be an unpopular opinion but I appreciate him as an antagonist. He's not a nice guy or even really sympathetic, but there's some depth to him and I like it much more than Gobi's generic cackling villainy.
