The scene in the t.v. series where Nami rapes Sora is very different; it's probably better for pornographic purposes that Sora starts to enjoy it mid-rape and proceeds to enthusiastically participate, but the emotional impact of Nami leaving Sora crying on the floor and walking out was better for story purposes.

What choices were out of character?

I wasn't talking about that scene at all, though you are right on it. I was talking about a few different ones like Aki 180ing on the whole relationship with Sora (despite her dismissing the problems it'd cause earlier on,) weird twist with Kana that comes off as a bad retcon, at least two of the events with Runa etc. They partially worked as just moving the story, but they (and a few more minor ones) don't really fit well with the actual characters and what we're presented with how they are.

The ride was good in the beggining, but the ending sucks hard. I would rather tell anyone to just stick to the anime adaptation, even if short and incomplete, that finished in a much more satisfying way.
