Yes, I mean it's brought up several times that Bambi and his sister look almost exactly the same, hence not even the readers know until he calls her onee-chan.
It's pretty good writing actually, damn this series is good.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Ako to Bambi. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of the occult and paranormal, most of the jokes will go over a typical reader's head. There's also Ako's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into her characterisation- her personal philosophy draws from... etc
