So on one page he had no thumbtacks on his right hand, then he showed thumbtacks on his left hand and then shook hands with the right one.

Did he mean to clamp the outside of Gorilla's hand with the non-tack, non-shake hand? Or were the tacks just drawn on the non-shake hand? I'm guessing the latter.
