The wife knew that her husband wanted her (he never slept with his wife ever and he was going to bring his first ever concubine after like 20 years). When he told his son to pick her up for him, the mother told him to take her for himself so his father wouldn’t be able to have her. The father knew and had him killed when he tried to take her for himself (aka forcing himself on her).
