Poor doggo. Fell in love with uncle but uncle wants someone else. She just tried to match the appearance he wanted.

Also that transition between the two of them floating with gentle background light to the freakish eldritch version was awesome. I realize this story isn't really following lovecraft lore entirely (uncle would be completely, utterly insane now) but I'm curious just how far gone his mind is. Doubt he came out of that encounter with all his marbles.

@Broxis Maybe that is why he got their attention, because he didn't go insane even after all that and even gave him "something" (A doggy in the shape of what he desired most).
... though I expect that "gift" has consequences, I do remember that Haru cried back then when she found out they cleaned the Ritual place spotless.

if I learned anything from reading Lovecraft is that humanity never wins, people in contact with the gods either kill themselves, disappear or end up completely insane.

Really like the darker plot

yes, choke the girl ur asking questions from, that'll work really well. like, besides making them dislike you, what about u know, the physical aspect, breathing?

well the plot is moving at least? not that i really cared about in a SoL series

Ok, wasn't expecting that. Does that mean Haru's true form is some kind of creeping chaos like something out of Lovecraft's Cthulu myth or was that something other than Haru that took a similar form? If that was her true form why was Chiyo able to almost kill her so easily and refer to her as a dog? After all, Haru seems too knowledgeable about human customs, interactions, along with being able to read and understand the books in a library if Uncle had summoned her before collapsing and ending up in hospital. Also, MC had mentioned she seemed familiar when first met unless it was because her appearance and uniform was just that similar to a picture of his aunt had seen in a family album. Then there's the fact she has the name Haru and able to get a job without identification papers or history.

So it was a typical case of sanity loss at seeing one of the cratures in the Mythos (Yog-Sothoth or Azatoth). It is completely beliavable but i hoped for something more out of ordinary, but it is not so easy to believe that he recovered from that experience,
