Well, it was obvious that her fiancé, who was presented in the current timeline to be a rather nice person and was even a good kid back then, cannot and will not be a love interest, because he sided with the evil girl back then, and thus has to be punished in this new timeline when he hasn't done anything. Because he fell in love with the evil girl at first sight.

So they give the protag a better love interest, who is of higher rank and position.
