That flew over my head, too. The word used in the raw was 'ヒモ' (himo), which I believe can either mean 'pimp', or 'good-for-nothing partner' colloquially. I used the latter meaning the second time it appeared since the manager was talking about it in the context of a boyfriend, but I'm not entirely sure how it's appropriate the first time it appeared. Would appreciate it if someone else who speaks Japanese could explain it.

Himo is basically japanese slang
It basically means “a man living off a woman’s money”
Not in the way like a stay at home dad or a house husband. As in someone who just lazes around at home all day while his wife/girlfriend works and does all the chores by themselves.
