I've actually got no clue. It was literally 'Ma'（ま) in the raws, so I assumed he was stuttering to say something (in which case I could translate to the English equivalent), but there wasn't any follow-up lines where he said anything that began with ま. Maybe it's just a quirk he has? I don't know.

Was the "Ma" thing the equivalent of something like "Um/Uh," where you're starting to speak but don't have it all clear in your mind yet? I know I've heard it used that way in some Japanese interviews

@eelzbean That's written as 'まぁ', which wasn't what was shown in the Chapter. Wouldn't really make sense, either.
