If Heidi doesn't rush Nozomi into anything and their relationship just grows naturally then I'm all for it. It's healthy for Nozomi to enjoy hanging out with people other than Shino, and maybe this will help her move on from her dead husband.

Heidi says "it makes me want to apologize for being such a useless son" on page 9. Though I guess Heidi's brother was there listening, so if Heidi is in the closet as a transwoman she would have used that word.

OTOH maybe Heidi is a gay male crossdresser! Shino would be relieved. (Why gay? They're more likely to use 'lover', at least in native English.)

I actually like Heidi, and I like Nozomi so much more when she is interacting with them (hell, or even with Ritsuko) than when she is being neurotic with Shino (which happens way too much). I would also like for the author to ease up on the bait.

I have to agree with Heidi: NomNom's reactions are super cute and nicely cutesy drawn. Makes you want to pat her. ❤

Also the whole drama was obvious but well build up: Having us guess what gender Heidi is. Letting us know Shino-chan's still existing affection to Nozomi. Nozomi still being a roadblock not moving forward. Next up is the meetup I was disappointed didn't happen last chapter. But here is the thing.. I guess Heidi tries to force themselves to get over their lovers death. I wonder if Heidi and Nozomi really are good for one another. They are probably not. But as long as this brings me to what I expect: Shino and NomNom separating at one point. I don't complain about the outcome between Heidi and Nozomi.

Also, Nozomi was obviously so socially awkward during the phone call, that she probably didn't hear Heidi referring to themselves as son. Hence why she still addresses her as woman. Which is stupid somehow. Afaik, in japanese you don't address someone else as he or she.

Let us see what happens!
