Anti-Gravity Girl - Ch. 7

the dads such a piece of shit that its breaking my immersion. hopefully they can pick up the pace a lil and have a blowoff soon, i like the premise but its glacial rn

@dysperwithaperoid Is that a pun? Eavesdropping with absolute ease by flying over their heads? Xd

I kinda like the dynamic so far. Everyone's a bit awkward and stilted and no one is in a good place mentally. The family members are assholes and the two main characters are in a bit of a porcupine dilemma and so are stuck trying to overcome the issues they have with the people who are related to the ones responsible in the first place.

It looks like they don't quite understand the gravity of the situation...

I apologize for nothing.

I'm surprised her muscles haven't atrophied, since she doesn't use them most of the time.

@Greyvenn What are you doing here trying to use logic on a girl that literally floats?
Plus, she grew up in a research lab, they'll try to find scientific solutions for any natural problems that she faces to keep her alive.

And if it's an evolution, her being able to fly, then evolution will also make sure to get rid of problems that come with it.

@Walter_vi_Britannia Hey, I'm just trying to understand the rules that this manga world has established! If it says she floats, then I say "Why does she have well-formed legs?". Applying real-world logic to magical worlds is super fun! (and also generally good practice for writing)

Besides, random mutations tend to lead to negative consequences rather than positive ones, so her mutating the ability to levitate doesn't suddenly make her more advanced. Evolution is a messy process that involves lots of trial-and-error, so I wouldn't take it for granted that "evolution would get rid of the problems". :p

Ah shoot. Is she gonna get ostracized? Now this is one of the things that make Korean Webtoons good, Japanese mangas can't even compete (Koe no Katachi was a great attempt, it was so good in the beginning that the government censored it initially. Sadly though, I think the censorship continued in the shadows, since it got PCed at the end).
