Just tell your mother what that guy demands in exchange for paying the debt.
Also tell the MC about it and ask him for help.
Then they could surely record how that A*hole tries to have the MC killed to steal his staff.
With that you can then sue him and have him become recorded as a criminal and be rid of him.
Why do the authors lately always try to make the companions in their stories look dumb or behave dumb instead of letting them take the actions they would actually take given on the companion's WHOLE FUCKING BACKSGROUND STORY?!
She valued her companions in the past and as such would not betray her new companions on purpose even in such a situation now.
She would instead talk to her mother and settle it without betraying anyone.

What I love about this series is that the art and the story are on equal ground, not one to drag the other.

Chapter 13 will most likely be released Saturday, so we will see how it goes. I agree the plot was a bit convoluted, but we picked this up, so we'll continue to work on it. Hope they improve as they keep going.

clearly this moron is underestimating MC's power and the nature of that staff, pretty sure even IF, against all OP MC reincarnator standards, MC somehow died and he got to the staff first it'd still tell him to f*** off, or kill him with it's inherent charged mana if it figured out he was responsible

@SlyDevil I agree whole heartedly. In any other story with a sly, cunning, character; this is where they would trick the bad guy out of his money. By pretending to be on fence and not actually agreeing to anything, get pay up front as "incentive" and doing whatever they want instead.
At the very least she could just tell the MC what is going on and they could just fake it. "I did what you asked, it's not my fault it didn't work."
The real threat here, is that this is a highly skilled/strong adventurer that knows where she lives AND can easily get close to someone she cares about. He has also proven that he is willing to get his, (or some underlings) hands dirty. IF she pisses him off, then he could have her dear mother killed easily. Basically holding her mother hostage is really effective for this situation.

the mother does not know the guy. so he could simply say that she will pay for it with "normal work". the mother is affraid that her daughter might get killed in the dungeons. so earning the money with normal work would be fine by her.
he could even say that she somehow "saved him" in wich way he might think sounds reasonable to her mother so he pays her back with the money for her depts...
