I must say as much as I am enjoying the story, I do find two unexpected pregnancies from women with access to contraceptives off-putting. It is off-putting when the senior woman already had to marry due to an unexpected pregnancy.

Also as much as I love this charming [flawed - no true communication] relationship they have never discussed contraceptives. By omission it reinforces the idea that speaking about contraceptives interferes with romantic mood.

Well unwanted pregnancies destroys romance.
