Thank you for the update! The first time I found Arte, I (very shallowly!) thought it was gonna be one of the generic stories, but I was so wrong. There's so much depth and thought in the narrative ;O; it's really wholesome and it values hard work in the face of different struggles! I love it so much

I mean, if anything Arte should be making full use of everything she has to further her career. She's already disadvantaged in some ways regarding her birth, she might as well use those same circumstances to the fullest. I guess it comes down to whether she finds it morally acceptable to do that.

The little miss is gonna grow up to be one hell of a Grey Eminence and I can't wait to see it.

Isn't the contrary?
Yes, being a woman others react negatively about her doing simple stuff, but being a noble she has the exception card. Her birth gives her the privilege to do things "inappropriate" for her gender. Until going to Venice had mingled with rabble, so she never thought about this, that if he wasn't a noble she wouldn't get that job proposal from the Failers. No matter how good and hard worker a person can be, she still lives in a society that puts value in social status and that's an advantage that she undeniably has.
The problem was however feeling bad about being herself.

No, it was the other way at first. When she was first trying to become a painter being a woman and a noble was a huge obstacle for her. I'm saying that now that it's the other way around in this arc she should embrace it. Everyone has different circumstances and she shouldn't feel bad about using hers to get further in life.

Yes, it was an obstacle because her family forbid, but with family approval wouldn't be very different?
Her problem was more her family wishes than her lineage.

Catarina is so cute, and she’s such a good support for Arte after Arte helped her. They’re both so similar yet so different, and I’m going to be sad when Arte inevitably goes back home.

I gotta say though as an artist, seeing them run around with a canvas painting almost gave me a heart attack. I was bracing myself for damage lol
