Young boy should be taught this. Just because you are the best person you can be, it doesn’t mean someone else will like you to the point of wanting to have a relationship with you. Your physical appearance is paramount, you can only do so much. As the author demonstrated, this character here is a wonderful, tactful person who’s caring and considerate, but he’s just not attractive enough to make women be in love with him. It’s neither his nor hers fault, that’s just how it is. You can blame god or evolution, that’s up to you.

I'm curious to see how much blowback Asahina catches when all is revealed. Haruto doesn't seem like he'd carry a grudge, but you never know how someone reacts to being lied to like this. 'Course, his friends are another matter entirely and one of them already suspects things aren't what they seem.
@duylinh @Reqqles you know, I’m not even sure that his appearance is the problem. The girl is not at ease because she’s forced to do this by the bullies, so she can’t portray herself to “like” someone forcefully.
The more time they’ll spend together and he’s considerate, the more her way of seeing him will change.
I know it’s early to make a prediction, but I see the whole “everything will come out in the sun” as only two possibilities:
1) he’ll learn the truth by accidentally hearing something from her classmates, he decides to leave her initially, but after that she asks to be forgiven saying that in time she really came to like him. Vengenace (at the hands of his friends) follows.
2) after falling for him for real she’ll muster all the courage she has and explains everything in front of the class, from the initial dates caused by the bullying to her really liking him. Ending, same as before.
The second is more wholesome tho.

It's perfectly reasonable that she doesn't want to be intimate with him despite coming to like him;
And yet still, after seeing her think that, I really hope a day comes where she wishes she could be intimate with him but can't. Lmfao lets see some guilt.
