I must say the pace was too fast, and we never really got around to explain some mechanics. Like what is really gardener, what was the police gadget, and other would building. I know it will eventually explained but its still weird.

Well, maybe if the MC wasn’t EXILED for years because of “mysterious plot“, he’d be up to date with technology and perhaps actually not “weak”!

MC goes from “mysterious exiled badass that can bring down giant beasts” to “horribly out of date veteran boomer gets his head beaten in repeatedly by TECHNOLOGY”.

Author has all this set-up implying that MC USED to be one of the best, but then he sticks the MC into some sort of competition where EVERY OPPONENT has a technological advantage over him. He gets mocked for doing what Gardeners are SUPPOSED to do (minimize interference and eliminate the source of the problem), and he survives the combat rounds by virtue of his stubborn resilience and his drone having an anti-technology EMP laser.

Honestly, the policewoman hacker is more interesting than the MC at this point.

@PhoenixStriker5251 Yeah, first chapter had the MC seems like a badass after 100 years being exiled, but then he needs to be bailed from time to time by the policewoman (which arguably had more MC power than him).

Our MC IS actually pretty good, even if he’s outdated or not nearly as flashy.
The next few chapters will be a flashback, introducing us to preexile Ayr and some other significant characters to Ayr’s life.
After, Mc, (ex?) policewoman hacker lady, and the other characters from the tournament get sent on some sort of practice mission as trainee Gardeners, but the mission seems to quickly go awry as they are separated upon teleportation and are all attacked by a HUGE swarm of giant insects. Ayr handles himself in combat like the former pro he’s supposed to be, and the others who spawned near him opt to follow him instead of the specially designated veteran assigned to each group because Ayr seems to know what he’s doing.

I can’t exactly “read” Japanese, so the above “spoilers” are guesses based purely on imagery and the context for the released Eng translations.

Honestly, it seems like the main problem was lack of viable equipment, since the weapons and equipment he had at the beginning were confiscated. In the

, Ayr normally fights with a sword, and he’s quite good at asskicking and monster slaying with one.

Ok, so a couple chapters have come out, and I have a little more context.

Ayr was “the Captain” at some point in the past.
Forsetti’s blue cyborg bodyguard is Tyr, Ayr’s brother. He used to tease Ayr with “Still so weak?”
Ayr’s sister, “Madam” Irene, is extremely important to the plot, and she had a LOT of influence as a Gardener.
The reason(s) regarding Ayr’s exile is potentially related to the Anti-alien or Rebel factions. It may have been some sort of coverup, or perhaps a way to keep him out of the control of enemy factions...
