So civilians, soldiers don't hate being brainwashed? Her husbands was fine with being raped when he loved someone else? I can't let that go. I could agree that because she is royalty so king can remove his daughter's punishment. But that doesn't mean that people under him will be fine with that. She needs at least to be hated by people if you won't give her any punishment.
This one scenario made me think that this manga is below average.

Don't hate the sister. She's a plot device used as the vehicle for a tired trope because the author didn't know how to write the story with a romantic resolution.

Hate that the author would pull this crap with his readership.

Yeah....like I said before this whole arc seems to have gone rather differently then it originally did. Possibly for the best since the original was confusing as hell with its multilayers of mindcontrol that basically flowed from 'the girl is the problem' 'no the father's mind control is the problem' 'no the love is actually evil and convinced them to do the mind control' 'no the sister's mind control made him evil' 'no she had another layer on her to remove blame from herself' Every fucking person was mind controlled to some extent and basically everyone in the royal family had at least 2 or 3 layers of mental manipulation on them aside from the companion who STILL had one layer on her. Royal family needs to try a solution OTHER then fucking with their own brains to fix their problems. This version seems like it basically cut out half the bullshit but also made it so no real attempts at punishing anyone happens.
