How come you’re starting at such late chapters? I don’t mind too much having read a little astro boy, and it’s episodic as well so it works, but I’m curious about why.

Oh, no problem at all :) These chapters were never re-printed outside of their original magazine run (c. 1964-1966) for unknown reasons. They are considered lost (Well, at least not anymore lol). I’ve acquired some secondhand copies, started cleaning them up and translating them. I’ve got two more chapters on the way.

According to the commenter on the main page, the official English re-printed chapters are available to read on archive.org

8 so far, as far as I know. Besides 2 of the chapters from the magazines, they seemed to have never been documented on the (english-speaking) internet (Chii-tan and Jungle Devil Boundary). The other 6 haven't been mentioned. There are 4 that I don't have in my procession unfortunately but have been proven to exist. I'll definitely be on the lookout for them.

Although I'm not a big Astro Boy fan, I'm glad to see there's a passionate group out there trying to preserve the history. Fight on!
