I am pretty sure that the creators of a virulent program that spreads on its own granting machines the ability to think for themselves, would count as terrorist, and those helping preserve their work would be accomplices.

And i can't wait until Pluto appears as an evolution of a Mars that has learnt how to enjoy violence and then goes and wrecks havoc by making sure he destroys all the strong robots that could oppose him and then attempts to take over the world.
