Or you could also go with Seitokai Yakuindomo that other people have referenced to, where the author pretty much only advanced the time by a year so they could bring his sister into the mix. Some stories you just have to suspend your logic and concept of time, but it tends to be worth it.

There's an ongoing subplot with curse girl and a misunderstanding of being a couple: lunch time together they walked around looking for a spot so they wouldn't be confused for a couple, at the athletic event she said he liked the doll so they wouldn't be mistaken as a couple, and this chapter she said she didn't mind if they were mistaken as a couple. I think his mom/sister also mistakes them as a couple as well.
