1. One can argue that Tomo lives by the Hagakure. "When the time comes, there is no moment for reasoning... simply become insane and desperate... A real man does not think of victory or defeat. He plunges toward an irrational death. By doing this you will awaken from your dreams."

2. Speaking of Yukari's driving, one of the best gags in "Sketchbook" is that they set you up to expect that the advisor is a Yukari-style driver and then it turns out she drives ultracarefully and forgets to take the handbrake off.
