@Monky Most would say that that's the point of her character. She's (probably) supposed to personalize the Buddhist ideal of being free from any sort of personal desire. Everyone else is chasing after some form of worldly happiness - money, power, her love, and so on - or has some wordly attachment - unable to let go of their warrior path, trying to make a living for ninjas in an age where they aren't needed anymore, and so on - but she's at worst worried about comrades and wants to see the people around her happy.
