Back to You - Ch. 17

Finally, she told him about wanting to change the future, and I honestly agree with her. I hope he's not going to convince her to stop interfering, even though I think he's too late.

I get Eunjae's reasoning for not wanting to change the future, but if there's a possibility to change things for the better or even just to be a bit happier, why not take it? It's the same as living in the present. There's no certainty in the outcome of our decisions so we can only really just make the choices that feel right at the time and adapt as things go along.

I think he's just acting cowardly. I want him to shoot his shot with his first love!

She has this really weird obsession with her first love. Usually, people get over their first love after a reasonable amount of years, but to still be enamoured with him after 10 years is just weird. I agree with her trying to save his life, but at the same time all she's thinking is mostly about him. She's not really thinking about her own future. She's not focusing on school (which the story is actually emphasizing over, so we will see the consequences) nor what she wants to do in the future. Neither is she trying change anything else, it's just that one guy. Which stands out a lot, and again it's kinda weird.

I feel like people hating on him for not pursuing his first love aren't considering the possibilities that he literally cannot. For all we know they could be a relative or someone engaged to a sibling (which we see happening often in romance genres). Keep in mind his mindset is a lot more healthier than the MC who is constantly surrounding herself with thoughts ab her first love to an unhealthy degree.

W-why are people saying she's weird for still being invested in her first love? Has no one in your life died ever???? It's not weird at all to want to prevent that death........ Y'all are the weird ones.

Also personally I like Eunjae's character. It'd be boring if there was no one to play devil's advocate. Plus they have good chemistry.

Bruh if someone I know and even liked died at such a young age, I'd definitely change the future. I mean the opportunity is there already and that might be the reason why they returned to the past in the first place, to relieve all the regrets they had and save Jaehyun. But Eunjae's opinion is also reasonable, being thrown in a situation like that causes you to be cautious.

Anyway thank you for uploading! I'm really excited to read more of this.

Sure, but she's definitely doing more than that.

If it was established that the girlfriend was a bad person or that she was responsible for his death, it would be understandable I guess.

I can see both sides of their arguments. Eunjae is right in that messing with the pass will only lead to an unknown future, where perhaps even worse things will happen. Then again if I were MC I would still want to save my first love from his accident. Either way both their arguments are right;;;; that last panel though

I wonder if they’ll ever get to why they time traveled in the first place.

Tbh I think she’s trying to be a better person for the people around her, like she did with her friend. Her crush is probably higher stakes because well he died and if she can prevent that, I’m here for it.

And for anyone who is like “she’s doing terrible in school,” I’d say that has wayyyy less to do with her crush and so much more to do with being an adult thrusted back into high school and caring so much less about grades since she already knows EXACTLY how much of it she’ll use in her adult life (which is a tiny, tiny bit). Not to say that it’s not important but I can understand why the motivation is lacking. Lol

Both sides are right. I think in the end they just need to mind their own business.
If she wanted to try changing the future then go on, if he didn't want to then don't, they are not that connected with each other after all, just make sure that both of them won't have any regret for what they choose.

Agree, this is no different from the present time, in the end it's full of uncertainty. FL's future might change for the worse like she turned worse academically and only thinking about her first love... with this kind of pattern, just don't regret anything if in the end she has worse life, guy actually still die or guy survive but doesn't have any feelings for her lol and Eunjae is kinda... careless as well because he's talking to the FL, his "future" might start to change a bit as well (his future girlfriend know the FL has something to do with Eunjae).

ngl Jaehyun kinda looks cool playing basketball 😳 i don't want him to die, he deserves to live 😔

but for some unknown reason i still ship Hayoung and Eunjae 😭
