@kenkenlanang I think it's the charm of Monogatari series, where the story only focused on so little characters. It makes it easier for character development and in turn make the character more likable by the readers.
And having many side characters doesn't necessarily make the story better since the author usually only make character developments for main characters and neglected the side characters; take a look at Fairy Tail.
