Bannin - Vol. 1 Ch. 1 - The Guardian

That was one unexpected ride. Really atmostpheric and I really like the image of the fragile boy sleeping in the huge cage with the curtain opening. It's like inviting us to unfold the story.
 
I like the novella-esque feeling from this one - from the man who wants Kanou to look at him with true expression, to Kasumi "escaping" his cage and taking his own steps out into the light, to Kanou finally leaving the house behind. Makes you think about how some of his last words were accusing Kasumi tying Kanou down to that place, when in reality it was him!
 
Everyone else has such deep thoughts, and here I am thinking, so does that mean that Kanou basically killed the kid? And who was his real father? 😝
