Here, I've fabricated a plot summary for anyone who is interested. I may stick it in if the description field stays blank forever:
"When the young lady of a clan is brutally murdered, evidence at the crime implicates both of the rivaling Wulin Union and Demonic Sects. Which is how the moody and reclusive Lord of the Wulin Union ends up unwillingly traveling with the cheerful and laid-back leader of the Demonic Sect, looking for the perpetrator..."

As a note, whilst I just now added a shounen-ai tag (since there were no tags), that's based entirely off of what MangaUpdates says; so, however much you trust MangaUpdates. As of this writing the chapters to date are just modestly homoerotic at best.

I was kind of nodding off for the first several chapters of this, but they've got a nice sort of bickering banter relationship going between the protagonists now and it's become much more pleasant.
If anything, my primary concern at this point is that this hearkens back for me to more ye olde gay adventure series in a lot of ways, which were all but universally obligated to go from reasonably light-hearted, to horribly dark and grim for the second half of the story. And the foreshadowing is all there already... Hopefully I'm just paranoid.
