Bartender

Cool manga.

One of the best mangas I have read. Deep and humorous, like life. Thank you CityShrimp.

I've become very fond of it. The messages are a bit trite sometimes, but never in a mean-spirited way.
Uh, pet peeve--whether it's "completed" or not refers to the scanlation status, not whether the series is still being written. So this is not "completed", it's "ongoing"; could someone fix it? If it weren't for the damn vandals making it necessary to disable editing for ordinary users I'd fix it myself--always has to be some asshole spoiling things for the rest of us.

@Purplelibraryguy

Mangadex defines it as "publishing status" or so, the status of the manga in country of origin, because otherwise it would be used 99% the time as "status of english translation" which is "not fair".
I believe they have plans for making a "status of translation in language X" label later (probably shown based on your account's filters), but that may be only my wish and not what they really said, can't remember anymore.

That would be a nice feature, but in the mean time doing it as status in country of origin is worse than useless. It's not particularly useful information and nobody but nobody expects it to be that way because no other site does it that way so that will just cause confusion. Better to have nothing than a feature that gives you misleading information.

Oh god... this is finally over. What I'm doing now with my life? I hope Cityshrimp continues with the translation of Bartender á Paris.

Anyway, I felt the end a little bit rushed. Does Bartender á Paris continues or have something to do with Sasakura? Or have a new mc?

And as a final note: This is one of my most treasured mangas, thank you Cityshrimp for translating this magnificent work of art.

Thank you so much Cityshrimp, I loved this series since the anime and its beautiful OST, I'm so glad to be able to see it end as well.
Thank you so very much!

I'm sad to see this end. I wanted to see some closure for some characters, but the end is as gentle and sad as the last sip of the drink. Thank you, CityShrimp, for the commitment you had for this series over the years.

Thank you Cityshrimp.
It has been a good ride along with the story. Thank you.

Thank you very much Cityshrimp for finishing this manga that stayed in my ''someone please translate'' list for years.

Thank you for your hard work!
I glad someone picked up great series like this. Seems like the author made new series about Bartender again.

Thank you for the translation!!

I first picked up Bartender when I was still in high school and the translations were on and off so I forgot about it with time.

I found it again and re-read the whole thing recently. Now that I'm old enough to drink, these stories are a lot more educational and I feel like I'm more prepared to try different types of drinks I normally wouldn't order for fear of looking foolish or finding it tastes bad.

But more than that, the characters appeal to me a lot more now. I really liked Ryuu and his subtle development over the series. An idealistic person who sticks strongly by his principles, and can be a little self righteous, but he's also kind hearted and willing to listen and change. A fancy and composed persona on the outside and a bit of a naive bum on the inside.
I really liked the master-apprentice relationships they portrayed. It was heartwarming to see that kind of devotion and a strong kind of love that's a little different from romance or familial love. It was fun watching Ryuu grow from a green newbie who got passed around from bar to bar so he could be given guidance, to a guy with his own apprentice who grew so attached to him that they became business partners.

It was fun watching the customers get gentle counseling or a bit of encouragement to keep going.

Indeed the whole manga had this feeling of being idealistic and optimistic. Nothing super life changing ever really happened, but there was always a strong undercurrent of "Everything will be okay. Just keep going,"
Situations might have turned out better in this manga than they often do in real life, but it was a really comforting read.

Thanks for everything!
