Today's chapter showed that our MC can't stand being affected by things out of his control. We had hints that he was pretty arrogant, but this just cements everything.

I think this was a matter of starting the characterization of the MC's more negative traits since we haven't really had time or a situation that allowed the mangaka to start delving there. Cause like while we understand that Kirisaki didn't just end it cause he wasn't ready to start murdering or maiming people, especially when he just saw someone get killed and he believes he has the option not to.
